Freedom Of Information Act
5 ILCS 140/1

The City Clerk is designated as the official to keep centralized records, files and information concerning the Freedom of Information Act and to coordinate activities responsive thereto among the various departments of the city. All public records, except those expressly made exempt by Section 7 of the Act, are available to any person for inspection or copying at the City Clerk’s Office in Village Hall, 200 North Meadow Lane, Suite 1, Annawan, Illinois, on Monday through Friday, at 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prevailing time, except holidays.

Written requests for information shall be submitted to Annette Morosko, Village Clerk, at Village Hall, 200 North Meadow Lane, Suite 1, Annawan, Illinois, 61234.

Subject to the fee provision, a copy of any public record, except those exempt by Section 7 of the Act, shall be provided to any person making a written request. The City shall comply with the written request or deny such written request within seven working days after its receipt. In the event the request cannot be filled within this seven working-day period, the time may be extended for an additional seven working days for reasons listed in 5 ILCS 140/3 (c). If the written request is denied, the denial will be by letter. Written requests may be submitted on FOIA request forms provided by the Village Clerk’s Office, or a form substantially in compliant with this form.
